Right now I’m attending an intensive one-week workshop to prepare for teaching an online course for the Global Online Academy this coming fall. The workshop, and teaching the course, are sure to be educational for me as a teacher. But right now I’m just having a blast interacting with a score of other teachers who are all immensely creative and thoughtful. It’s always an invigorating but humbling experience to hear such people talk about their work. There’s always so much more to learn about teaching, so much more that you could theoretically bring to the classroom (physical or virtual).
It’s particularly nice that this workshop is being held at IslandWood, an amazingly beautiful outdoor/environmental learning center on lovely Bainbridge Island in Puget Sound. You can check out the awesome suspension bridge through the temperate rain forest below.
